Machine Men

Machine hearts, machine minds…they tell us what to do, how to feel and what to think! Have we become mechanical beings? Is there any shred of humanity with in us? Or have our eyes become dim, our ears deaf, our mouth silent, and our hearts cold?

The Spark of Life

Remember the spark of life which was given to us as a loving gift. A spark
that is meant to ignite our own hearts. That we were not created to be
someone else, but rather we were given the unique freedom to be ourselves.
Wonder not about the great men and women of the past, but reach deep down
inside yourself and see that there is something greater! Once you find this
inner beauty, your task is to show it to the world.

Sunrises

At the coming dawn, the sun rises in its sublime beauty. Beauty that makes the eyes
glisten as you watch the dazzling rays of light that seem to lift the heart
from its lowly estate. Such beauty that makes men speechless and renews
within in them the once lost wonder of life.

Oasis of the Heart

I look towards the emerald sea of green grass and I am drawn in by its sweet fragrance which beckons me to run amongst its rolling waves that move gently in the warm summer breeze. And with a twinkle in the eye and a smile that could brighten the most dimmest of days.  I run with joy under the majestic sun that hangs like a jewel in the big blue sky. And my senses are heightened as my heart soars like  a bird in flight and I jump about like the leaves of the trees that dance back and forth in the gentle wind. And for a moment it is as though I am weightless, and I seemingly traverse the hills of heaven. Twirling about under the splendid sun, I began to laugh and to sing in the meadow of mother nature who holds me close as a mother holds her own son.

And off to the distance I look with glee and anticipation as I behold a small tree that may lack in size but made up for it in its beauty. I could not help to answer the call of the old tree and to climb upon its branches and to perch myself upon what seemed to me to be a heavenly throne. It was a place of tranquility and an oasis of the heart. And what heart could not think lofty thoughts as you looked forth from your throne into the abode of nature. And I loved to watch the birds play amongst the sprawling branches and sing songs more beautiful than the ear has ever heard. And even the ants wobbled through the uneven bark and seemed to move harmoniously with the sound of nature. For truly there is no greater composer or poet than mother nature who sings to us her lullabies. I looked up through the branches and leaves and watched the sun dance in delightful glee as the gentle breeze would flow through my hair and leave me at ease.

That’s Life-Frank Sinatra

You know the beautiful thing about life even in the midst of sorrows and bad times, there is always opportunities to get back up. To get back in the game and turn that frown into a smile. How many times have I been down and out and thinking that there is no possible way for life to improve. That I have been dealt the cruel hand of life and I should give up and discard my dreams because now they are surely fantasy. But even in my unfair reasoning, there is a spark that remains with in me. Waiting to ignite my passion when the time is right. And in due time there comes a spring in my step and my frown turns upside down. And it seems as if the whole world is illuminated and the song birds are there to greet me with there chirping. And the warmth of the sun shines brightly on my face and I seemingly float along the way and I say to my self, “Isn’t Life Grand?”

Bruce Lee-An Authentic Human Being

Bruce Lee has got to be one of the most influential people in my life.  Pick up the Bruce Lee book, “Striking Thoughts.” One of my favorite books.

Some Bruce Lee Quotes:

“If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”

“To know oneself is to study oneself in action with another person.”

“If you want to learn to swim jump into the water. On dry land no frame of mind is ever going to help you”

“I am learning to understand rather than immediately judge or to be judged. I cannot blindly follow the crowd and accept their approach. I will not allow myself to indulge in the usual manipulating game of role creation. Fortunately for me, my self-knowledge has transcended that and I have come to understand that life is best to be lived and not to be conceptualized. I am happy because I am growing daily and I am honestly not knowing where the limit lies. To be certain, every day there can be a revelation or a new discovery. I treasure the memory of the past misfortunes. It has added more to my bank of fortitude.”
